Norwegia Personal Data Policy

General Information about the Personal Data Protection Law

Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as “KVKK”) was adopted on March 24, 2016, and published in the Official Gazette No. 29677 on April 7, 2016. Part of KVKK came into effect on its publication date, and the remaining parts on October 7, 2016.

Information as a Data Controller

In accordance with Law No. 6698 (KVKK), and in the capacity of Data Controller, your personal data may be recorded, stored, updated, disclosed/transferred to third parties in cases permitted by legislation, classified, and processed in the ways specified in KVKK, within the scope described on this page.

How Your Personal Data May Be Processed

Under Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the personal data you share with our Company may be obtained in whole or in part, automatically or by non-automatic means provided that it is part of any data recording system, recorded, stored, modified, rearranged, and in short, may be subject to all kinds of processing carried out on the data. Within the scope of KVKK, any kind of operation performed on data is considered “processing of personal data.”

Purposes and Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data

The personal data you share:

  • May be processed so that we can fulfill the requirements of the services we provide to our customers in accordance with contractual and technological obligations and to improve our products and services.

  • May be processed to record identification, address, and other necessary information to identify the party to a transaction in accordance with:

    • Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce,

    • Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection,

    • The Regulation on Service Providers and Intermediary Service Providers in Electronic Commerce, published in the Official Gazette No. 29457 dated August 26, 2015,

    • The Regulation on Distance Contracts, published in the Official Gazette No. 29188 dated November 27, 2014,

    • and other relevant legislation.

  • May be processed to arrange all records and documents required as a basis for transactions in banking and electronic payment fields, electronic contracts, or paper-based documents; and to comply with obligations of storing, reporting, and providing information imposed by legislation and other authorities.

  • May be processed to provide information to prosecutors’ offices, courts, and relevant public officials, upon request and as required by legislation, regarding issues of public security and legal disputes.

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and related secondary regulations.

Information on Third Parties or Organizations to Which Your Personal Data May Be Transferred

For the purposes mentioned above, the personal data you share with our Company may be transferred to persons/organizations related to the services provided, such as our Company’s e-commerce infrastructure provider Wix.com, Inc, suppliers, shipping companies, partner organizations from which we receive services or collaborate (in the capacity of Data Processor), domestic/foreign organizations, and other third parties in order to conduct our activities and/or for the purposes of fulfilling contractual obligations.

How Your Personal Data Is Collected

Your personal data may be collected:

  • Through forms on our Company’s website and mobile applications, including information such as name, surname, Turkish ID number, address, phone number, business or private email address, and via pages accessed using a username and password, IP records of transactions performed, cookie data collected by browsers, browsing duration and details, and location data;

  • Verbally, in writing, or electronically through our sales and marketing department employees, branches, suppliers, other sales channels, paper forms, business cards, digital marketing, and call center channels;

  • From individuals who share personal data by providing a business card, résumé (CV), offer, etc., for purposes such as establishing a commercial relationship with our Company, applying for a job, or submitting a proposal. This may be done in a physical or virtual environment, face-to-face or remotely, verbally or in writing, or electronically;

  • Indirectly via different channels, such as data obtained from websites, blogs, contests, surveys, games, campaigns, and similar (micro) websites and social media; from e-bulletin reading or click actions; from publicly available databases; and from publicly shared profiles and data on social media platforms.

Your Personal Data Obtained Before the KVKK Entered into Force

Any of your personal data obtained legally before the effective date of KVKK (April 7, 2016) through membership, electronic communication permission, product/service purchases, or other methods are also processed and stored in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in this document.

Transfer of Personal Data Abroad

Your personal data, collected by any of the methods mentioned above and processed in Turkey or to be processed and stored outside Turkey, may also be transferred to service providers located abroad (to countries accredited by the Personal Data Protection Board and where sufficient protection for personal data exists) within the scope of KVKK and in line with the purposes of the contract.

Retention and Protection of Personal Data

Your personal data will be stored confidentially in the databases and systems maintained by our Company, in accordance with Article 12 of KVKK. Except for legal obligations and the regulations stated in this document, it will not be shared with any third parties in any way. In accordance with Article 12 of KVKK, our Company is obligated to prevent unlawful processing of personal data, to prevent unauthorized access, and to take software-based security measures (such as access management) and physical security measures. If it is learned that personal data has been acquired by others through illegal means, the situation will be immediately reported in writing to the Personal Data Protection Board in accordance with legal regulations.

Keeping Personal Data Accurate and Up to Date

Under Article 4 of KVKK, our Company is obligated to keep your personal data accurate and up to date. In this regard, in order for our Company to fulfill its obligations arising from current legislation, our customers must provide accurate and up-to-date data or update it through the website/mobile application.

Rights of the Personal Data Owner Under Law No. 6698

Article 11 of Law No. 6698 entered into force on October 7, 2016. Accordingly, Personal Data Owners, after this date, have the right to apply to our Company (the data controller) regarding their personal data to:

  1. Learn whether their personal data has been processed,

  2. Request information if their personal data has been processed,

  3. Learn the purpose of processing their personal data and whether it is used in line with that purpose,

  4. Know the third parties at home or abroad to whom their personal data is transferred,

  5. Request the correction of personal data if it is incomplete or incorrectly processed,

  6. Request the deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions set forth in Article 7 of KVKK,

  7. Request that third parties to whom personal data has been transferred be notified of the actions taken in items (5) and (6),

  8. Object to any outcome against themselves that arises from the analysis of processed data exclusively through automated systems,

  9. Demand compensation for damages in the event that they suffer damage due to the unlawful processing of personal data.
